girls weekend...

So i had my first girls weekend, no kids, no husband... Rachel Herring and I headed to Grand Junction and on the way we stayed in Rifle colorado.. We ate at Sonic, and then went to hotel to swim and hang out in the jacuzzi.  Then watched tv, read, and headed to bed.. Then of course i slept in ugh... till 8:39 when the phone rang...haha little madi couldn't find her stuff!!  So we got up and headed to GJ, shopped, ate and had alot of fun!! I did miss my kids and hubby, would totally do it again!! Good times!!

first steps...

It only took her one try... and she did it.. On friday April 28 Morgan took her first 8 steps, and hasn't stopped!! She has now used her freedom to climb on chairs, on top of the kitchen table, and is still trying to master climbing onto the fireplace... She loves the freedom, and she still gets so excited when she is walking and clapping her hands...
Mason has discovered a love for the outdoors!! If he can't get out, he SNEAKS OUT!! If he can get past the gate of the kitchen, he goes to the sliding door, slips down the stairs, and has reached FREEDOM... He is a sneaky one as well....and together i can't leave them alone for one second...

April Birthday Bash, Easter, Comings and Goings....

So tonight we celebrated, 3 BIRTHDAYS!!!!

Avery 24  5

Yes, all in a row!!! It was so fun, they each had their own cakes, and we had banana and chocolate cream pies, thank you Marie Calendars (frozen)...hahaha

Morgan loved the flame from the candle, and once she figured out what she was eating, she dug in till she was gone!!!

Mason blew out his candles before we even had gotten to the middle of the song!!!

Avery just loved the fact that she got to share the easter holiday with her birthday!!!

Time just goes by too fast, love my babies!!!
My dad, and allie, were able to come up and visit with us, and share in all the celebration...

They were also able to watch Maddy and Wesley perform at the Craig Town Talent show!!!
Maddy sang and danced with her singing group (by Tami Ahlmer) and Wes performed with a group from school!!

Wes is doing track this year and is really enjoying it!! He got his first 3rd place ribbon..he was so proud!!

Taylor has ended basketball, Jared, Evan and Maddy are getting ready for baseball....Wes will do tennis and whatever else we can come up with.. and of course swim lessons along the way!!!

the kids are down to 5 weeks left of school, and really hope to do some fun things this summer... better start planning!!!

another day...

So today Wesley was set apart as the Deacon President, and I was at home with sick babies :(  I wasn't happy about that, but I wouldn't have been happy at church either with sick babies, hanging on me, crying, coughing, and snotting up everything in site!!! I also missed Lee speaking in church, but he always does  a great job!! He is a very inspiring man!! Love him...

Had a girls night/minute to win it game night at my friend Brittany Nielson's house.  It was so fun, and things that didn't look that hard were, and when you get laughing girls and trying to steady a spaghetti noodle in your mouth= not going win :(  Good food, good games, great gals!!!

So Taylor played in her first AAU 6th grade basketball game!! (and she is in 5th)  She did so good!! I can see improvement in her and starting to get so excited for her as she keeps getting better, stronger and confident in her game!! They let a few 5th graders join the team, and though she doesn't get too much playing time, hopefully she will gain by the experience and by watching and learning at practices!!!

Jared just turned 10 a week ago, and I still don't want to believe it!! He got to hang out with his friends in BC for his birthday, and got football themed presents!! Receiving gloves, football tie tac, football scripture case, and reading chart with pen... and a Jersey from his grandma stuart!! I hope he likes football!!!

So on day 4 or 5 of little sleep, Mason has had a bad earache, and he is finally asleep.  I have Avery on one side of me asleep, and Lee on the other side asleep, and all this on the couch, as i type!!! Why am I still awake, well someone has to look for a van, decide if we should buy or build a house, look for coupons, decide what to do for sharing time this sunday, see if there are any cute crafts that i want to look at and decide if i can do it or not, when there is no craft store, or garage sales going to find that one amazing deal to turn nothing into something...all the while listening to evan and mason and morgan hack their lungs out.. :( but hey its all good, have a great lunch planned tomorrow with the ladies and will take a break!! good times...Mason is starting to say morgans name.  and tell the kids to go to bed... so funny!!

So Lee got to visit with Evans kendergarten teacher when she came in to "see" the dentist.... She related a story to Lee that she overheard at school... that involved Evan and another student...
So Evan was telling another student that he gets an extra 25 cents per chore that he does, and then he told the student, but I think I can talk her (my mom) into giving me 50 cents a chore......

another "snow" day

Well we have been having really nice weather, and as usual all nice things have to come to an end. Yesterday was over cast, nothing out of the norm. But of course, we woke up to snow, and it hasn't stopped. And thinking it won't stop for awhile!!
We have had news that hasn't been good, and we are keeping these families in our prayers.  I know things happen for reasons we do not understand, but it just makes me realize how important it is to stay close to the lord, so that he will help guide, direct, and protect.
Morgan is going on getting 3 more teeth, and she is not happy about it!!
Mason is ever bored, between coloring on walls, hitting things with knives, or spoons- making dents in everything, tearing off couch cushions, trying to pull down the entertainment center, putting things in the toilet, shall i go on.....

Another day...

So I am on week 2 of fighting off being sick, but Friday it took over :(  I am hoping that the three of us who got it will be it.... We had very warm weather today 55 degrees!! The kids were all outside today playing, well Evan (6) was trying to get ready to go play... He was having a hard time trying to put on his snowbibs.. he was grunting, whining, crying and whining more... Then he fell to the floor and stopped and looked up to me and said,"Mom why can't it be summer!!" Poor kid, he did get dressed and had a good day..

Mason has figured out how to climb out of his playpen (where he USED) to take naps.. on his last afternoon, he got out and locked himself in my room... So had to break into my own room through the window outside, still in my PJs cause i was sick, and take the screen off, and hope that i didn't lock it!!

feb 8...

Well time has once again quickly passed by, but not our crazy weather!! We have had temperatures -40 below zero, days of surprising snow, that has piled up and getting higher...A few have been sick, and some wanting to be sick!! Taylor is on a 6th grade basketball team, and they do traveling tournaments...Wesley has tried out for a duet, Don't stop believin', from the show Glee.. He will be doing a skit with a song from lady gaga, hopefully i can get that on film.
Well the oter day we were on our way home, and I told the kids,"When we get home, I want you to take your backpacks, coats, and boots, etc's.... down to your room and then wash your hands." Then Avery says," But mom I don't have any etc's...."
Gotta love that girl....

refreshing moment

So on sunday, wesley comes up to me and is shoving a piece of paper in my face... and I said, what is it? and he says...IT'S MY TEMPLE RECCOMEND!!" What a great learning moment for me, and i get to go with him when he goes for baptisms for the dead....So grateful to worthy and have a son that is too...

another day

Well we got to go with Lee to a conference in Denver...We got to spend a few days with his mom, shopping and hanging out. WE picked up my mom on Fridday, and brought her home to Craig, for a little Va-cay!! It has been so nice having her here, and haging out... We got to celebrate Evans Birthday, and show her the sites of craig, ejnoy the kids dance presentations at school... We have two days left and I am so not ready for her to leave... I have decided to have someof the youngest kids do sports right now so we can just take some time and hang out and not be on the go till at least march...Wesley will get to do baptisms for the dead on sat jan 30.. He is so excited to go... Can't believe how fast he is growing up..

JAN 6th

Well since the holidays took ovver once again, but this time in a good way...I got to do alot more with my kids and figure out better ways to get ready for next year!! We went ice skating, played in the snow, made a whole bunch of cookies and watched movies!!! Christmas was just our family this year, and yes the kids woke up at 4:30, thank you wesley for setting his alarm and waking everyone up!! I think everyones christmas wish list was somewhat granted!!! WE stayed up till 1:00am for New Years with some friends (thanks savahanna and bridger ahlmer) and had snacks and hot fudge sundaes at 11:00 pm!!! School has started back up, which means tired kids, and getting back to the ol grind!!
